Web Development
I am a software engineer by trade with a strong emphasis on web technologies. You could say I am an open source guru who enjoys working with linux, code in Ruby, and read up on new open source projects. Some of the technologies I enjoy dabbing into include:
- Ruby & Ruby on Rails
- PHP & CAKEPHP
- MySQL & Postgres
- AJAX, Javascript, CSS, and HTML, and XML
- Web Services, including REST
- Linux
I currently work for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and also run a karate school. I am extremely busy, but at times I do accept freelance projects. Feel free to contact me about your project. I’d love to hear from you. If anything I may be able to point you in the right direction.
A brief history of my career would start after I graduated from Brigham Young University in Information Systems. In 2007, I partnered with Jimmy Zimmerman and formed a company called Apriux LLC. There we did some freelance web development for a wide array of start-up companies, many of which are still in operation. The first group are from my time at Apriux.
After a year, I decided to get a full-time job to focus more on my karate school. I began working for DeseretBook. There I was the principal developer for DeseretBook.com from start to finish. It’s probably the most-visited site I have built thus far. DeseretBook.com included a wide array of other projects including Time Out For Women website, DeseretBookTV, Mormon Tabernacle Choir site (still not deployed), and others. I also was a main contributor of the new Gospelink.com.
