Seth Godin Update

April 27th, 2007 . by brian.corrales

I just received an update on how the pledge is coming to get Seth Godin here.  We’ve got 145 people signed up so far and we need everyone who signed up to recruit 3 more people.  If anyone is interested in hearing Seth speak, please let me know and I’ll get you in touch with the organizer, Phil Burns.  Here’s some info:  http://wordmob.com/docs/SethGodin.pdf.  The pledge closes Monday so please act quickly if you’re interested.  Thanks.

New Chapter

April 22nd, 2007 . by brian.corrales

Friday was the big day.  I’ve been looking forward to completing this last semester of school for quite a while.  I’ve been really wrapped up in my work that school had been placed on the backburner and thought of more of a nuisance than anything else.  Friday was the first day of finals and I ended up taking all 4 of my finals in the same day.  I started at 8:00 am and finished around 8:00 pm.  Crazy I know, but it sure feels good to be done.  I’ll be walking next Friday, graduating from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems.

As for a career, I’ve decided to partner up with Jimmy Zimmerman and form a web consulting firm called Apriux.  We’re specializing in Ruby and PHP development and take care of all of your online needs:  business consulting, marketing, ad words campaigns, SEO, as well as your typical design and development of online softwares.  I really enjoy web development and I believe Jimmy and I will be able to create a viable business.

As of now, we don’t have a physical location, though we are in the process of getting a business license.  I plan on keeping everyone posted on how things are going.  For now, I’m just excited to graduate finally.  We’ll stay in Provo over the summer, but eventually would like to move to the Salt Lake area.  The reason for the move will be to eventually open a martial arts school someone in the area.  If anyone has an idea of a good location, I’m open at this point.  :)

Alright, a bunch of people are trying to get Seth Godin to come speak in Utah.  This is a great opportunity to learn some new ideas on how to become successful.  The cost for admittance is $50 and you receive 5 copies of his book.  We need 400 people to pledge to be there.  If anyone is interested, go to http://www.pledgebank.com/SethGodinUtah.  This is a great opportunity!
